Justin Michael Cosnotti, 35, of Jefferson was sentenced in Greene County district court Dec. 2 to two five-year prison terms after changing his plea to guilty to charges of willful injury resulting in bodily injury and domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense. The prison terms are consecutive. He was fined $750 with a $112.50 surcharge on each charge; the fines and surcharges were suspended. He must pay a $90 domestic abuse surcharge of that charge. Cosnotti also changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail on that charge, also consecutive to the prison terms. He was fined $315 with a $47.25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge was suspended. The case was initiated July 3.
Charges against Cosnotti of possession of heroin, harassment- first degree, false imprisonment and child endangerment were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Cosnotti must pay $135 court costs and restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria Kester).
Also as part of the plea agreement, district court cases against Cosnotti were dismissed as follows: possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender, initiated July 8; harassment- first degree and tampering with a witness or juror, initiated Sept. 17; and dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by domestic abuse offender, initiated Sept. 28. Cases in magistrate court in which he was charged with violation of a no contact order, interference with official acts, and two cases of possession of drug paraphernalia were also dismissed.
Cosnotti was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree. The prison term is concurrent to the terms in the previous cases. He was fined $855 with a $128.75 surcharge; both were suspended. In that case he must pay $315.55 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A case was initiated Nov. 29 against Dale Lee Spaulding, 52, of Ellsworth on a charge of operating while intoxicated.
